Yes, we’ve taken great care is creating a secure hosting environment for all of our council sites. Our servers are UK based, in an ISO 27001 accredited data centre. We have layers of protection with website firewalls and server firewalls, and all our sites are registered with premium security software. Our servers are even registered with the government’s National Cyber Security Centre Early Warning system to scan for malicious traffic.
Due to the way our custom framework is configured and how we’ve setup our hosting, our council sites can’t be hosted elsewhere. We take the security of our council sites very seriously, and to enable us to be in control of the entire hosting environment, we host and manage all of our council sites ourselves.
Yes, we take all the necessary precautions to protect our websites, and our firewalls block tens of thousands of malicious visits each month. We also have an audit log of all activity on the site, and can limit admin user access to specific areas if required. However, we encourage you to only store information on the website that should be in the public domain; we can advise on alternative solutions for “councillor-only” members’ documents.

Yes, we can help migrate your existing gov.uk domain over to us, or we can register a new domain for you. If you choose to move your domain to us, we can work alongside your IT provider to arrange the safe migration so nothing affects your existing email arrangements.
As part of all our packages we include an online training session for you and your team, and we strongly encourage all our council websites to update content by themselves. On top of that, all of our maintenance packages include inclusive support hours each year for us to help you when you’re stuck. If you need more support at any point, we’re always on hand and maintenance packages are flexible to add more hour as required. You’ll never get a surprise bill from us.
